Pixie Bonnet by Shara Lambeth Designs

SO I know its only March but I have been thinking about the Winter Magic Festival in June, a festival we have here in Katoomba to celebrate the Winter Solstice, we fill the street with stall’s and food and have a parade and everywhere you look there is either people dressed up or wearing something a little unusual, people wearing ever colour of the rainbow, funny hats you name it! this year I plan to take oodles of photo’s, ANYWAY I wanted to make something cute and kooky for Miss Mila to wear this year so I decided on this:

Redpixiebonnet2

HOW CUTE IS IT!? the pattern is actually for newborn to 3 months but I am hoping I can figure out how to make it bigger (I haven’t actually read the pattern properly :p ). If I can work it out I might just think about selling them :D giving I am allowed to do so haha, I will take photos of my progress and leave you the link for the pattern :)

Busy Bee…

oh how I have been a busy bee for the past month and a half, not in regards to FLYing but life in general, and I thought I probably should come here and let you know what I have been up to, now I wont bombard you with one great big post I’ll break it up over a couple :)

SO I will start with Miss Mila’s birthday party :)

as I may or may not have mentioned before I purchased a cake kit from the Baker Girls from Cake 2 The Rescue, essentially they send out a package with EVERYTHING you need to bake a cake and decorate it except for eggs, milk and butter lol. I freaking LOVED it, I certainly would not have been able to do it with out the kit.

This is the kit I purchased:

and here is the process:

Box and Instructions etc.

See everything you need, fondant, candles, food colouring, cake mix and icing (I did add a little extra because the food colouring thinned out the icing) OH and the box is your baking tray!

So overall I think I did a pretty damned good job at it :D I will admit I did accidentally bake the cake 2 days before lol I got a tad excited, she had a great day and got some wonderful prezzie’s, we had a BBQ  and it DIDN’T rain! it was looking a little grim that week.

Well I’ll leave it at that for now, in my next post I’ll show you what the amazing Melanie (from Melli M Designs) created for Miss Mila for her birthday, she is such a talented lady.

xx

I cannot believe it

Yesterday my darling Miss Mila turned 2! Can you believe it..2! Where has the time gone it was only yesterday I was admitted to Royal Prince Alfred getting ready to be induced and bring my tiny 1.895kg baby world in to the world 4 weeks early. And now she runs, talks a mile a minute, tells us she loves us and gives big cuddles and kisses, she will be in school before I know it.

She opened all her presents while still in bed, and ran around the house showing everbody everything she got saying “See, see”, we took her out to lunch atbour favourite cafe, came home and she opened some more presents and played overall she had a fantastic day.
And now…now I have to plan for her birthday party on saturday, im hoping  for good weather, its been particularly crappy here in the blue mountains this past week or so :/.
I need to get my flybaby bum into gear to have the house tidy and two toddler friendly by Saturday morning so I have today and SOME of tomorrow to do that, I need to prep food and make cakes tomorrow too oh my gosh! I’ll try to remember to take photos working up to Saturday.
